It was a super long journey to get from San Francisco to Kenya, and we were so glad that we made the decision of spending one night in Nairobi before heading to the Safari the next day. As soon as we landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a staff from AndBeyond picked us up and drove us to our “home” for the evening – Palacina Residence and Suites.
Palacina is such a beautiful oasis in the middle of a big city. As soon as we walked in, there were greeneries everywhere. The outdoor swimming pool was in between the luxury hotel apartments/residence and the suites, and we loved how they used lots of neutral colors and fabric draperies throughout the property – kudos to the Palacina Interior Design team! They really did a great job on the overall decor, and it’s totally our style!

The lobby of the hotel is bright and airy, and definitely very cozy for afternoon tea service:
Darren took this photo of the lobby while I was checking in at the front desk:

Every afternoon, they serve afternoon tea service in the lobby:

This was our Palacina Suite. When you first walked in the front door, this was the living room with a balcony behind this photo:

To the right of the suite was the master bedroom:

This Safari trip was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and also my birthday, so they offered us champagne and treats during the entire trip:
A very spacious master bathroom:
When we returned from the Safari portion of the trip, we also spent one more night here before flying home. It was such a lovely and serene place, and we definitely would like to stay here again the next time we go back to Nairobi.
